Monkey Magnets

How cute are these? I got these monkey magnets from Mostly Magnets through a giveaway at Rants In My Pants. Wow, many prepositional phrases. OK, clearer -- I entered a giveaway to win these magnets. My youngest noticed that I had put them up. I asked if she liked them, and she answered by holding up the (open mouth) "Ooo!" and (smile with teeth) "I like" magnets.

I am very impressed by the strength of the magnets. And the images are so very cute. Whether they are used with the magnetic words or for keeping track of hair cut coupons, I'm hoping they bring more smiles into our house.

Natural Learning

I thought I would photograph this moment before it was gone. We have magnet words on the inside of our front door. Since my awesome sister Fara gifted me with poem magnets, we have more words than we know what to do with. Someone always tries to find words that he saw but can’t find now, or wants to find but doesn’t know if we have the word. I suggested we alphabetize the words and started organizing them near the bottom edge of the door. This photograph happened soon afterward. I guess that would be “I” of GAIN’s language arts lesson.

Crafts over the chicken

I am so proud of myself for this new idea. Since my late teens, I have wanted magnetic poem words. The cost really prevented, and still prevents, my purchase. My inspiration came this evening while looking at yet another dumb barium sheet magnet. How many can a person own? How much space is left on our refrigerator door?

I cut my magnet apart. I separated the words that were on it. In the blank areas, I wrote my own words. Then I found more magnets, lather, rinse, repeat. I have my own free magnet poem words, I didn't spend money, and the words on the magnets are randomly great!
