Open Mesh

Finished another dish cloth. This pattern is a mesh that I found on Lion Brand's website. I used scraps from my stash. All I have left now (in kitchen cotton at least LOL) is white yarn  :-)

Off the sticks!

edited on May 25, 2010:

So idyllic -- fruit, bread, flowers, and a hand knitted dish cloth. I'm submitting this top photo in Sweet Shot Tuesday. Join in!
Sweet Shot Day

I worked this one pretty fast! That also means that I've spent a loooooooot of time in front of the tube.
The pattern is Open Star. Yes, I know it's sideways. Just turn your head.

On the Sticks

My 16yo (yikes, that's old!) noticed this phrase at the end of the dishcloth pattern I'm working on. It does make you laugh. The photo shows the 'wrong' side of a pattern called Open Star.

Off the sticks!

Don't look too close or you'll see a couple mistakes. That happens when I knit these over three or four very spread out knitting sessions. King Charles Brocade pattern.

Voice Mail

I've been saving the following voice message forever. After receiving her gift, my sister left this message:

".... I was just calling to let you know that I absolutely LOVE that dish rag that you made me. And Will loves it too. We want more. So any future gifts, you can just make us dish rags, 'cuz those ROCK."

Ah, the simple things.

Dish washing

The dish cloths are wonderful! I'm not looking for extra items to clean, but I am loving the feel of the knitted dish cloths. They are thick and nubby. Open Star 2 is shown here in Peaches and Cream yarn. I am currently trying to use the remainder of this yarn to make Triangles. I started working while overseeing the children's schoolwork and get messed up, so "G" and I ripped it apart. I have started over. I'm on row 2. OK, I'm lying. I haven't cast on. But I will. It's fairly fast, and without kids, I ought to be able to pay attention!

----

All right, it is the next day, and I am unable to make Triangles. The third triangle is not ending up in the right place. I have tried three times, so I am now moving on to the fan patterned dishcloth that came on the Sugar and Cream wrapper. The colors of this yarn are so nice and bright and cheery that I get an inner smile when I see them.
